خَفَرَهُI , and خَفَرَبِهِ, and خَفَرَعَلَيْهِ, Present.T ـِ and ـُ Verbal.Noun خَفْرٌ; and خفّرهُ , Verbal.Noun تَخْفِيرٌ; and تخفّر بِهِ; He protected him; granted him refuge; preserved, saved, rescued, or liberated, him; from him who sought or pursued him. And خَفَرَالقَوْمَ, Verbal.Noun خُفَارَةٌ, He protected the people and became responsible for their safety.
2 And خَفَرَهُ He received from him hire for protecting him and being responsible for his safety.
3 And خَفَرَ, Verbal.Noun خِفَارَةٌ, He guarded palm-trees from injury: and seed-produce from the birds: syn. of the Verbal.Noun of the verb in the latter sense, شِرَاحَةٌ. (K, TA: in the CK شَرَاجَةٌ, with fet-h to the ش, and with ج in the place of ح.)
