خِفْقَةٌ , or, as in the Tekmileh, خَفْقَةٌ , A thing with which one strikes, or beats, such as a thong, or strap, or a دِرَّة [q. v.]. [See also مِخْفَقَةٌ.]

def.2 And the former, or ↓ the latter, A smooth desert in which is [the kind of mirage termed] آل: so says Lth. [See also مَخْفَقٌ.]
