خَنْجَرٌ and خِنْجِرٌ and خِنْجَرٌ, the last of a rare form, like دِرْهَمٌ, A knife: or a great knife: or a kind of large knife [or dagger, generally curved, and double-edged], called in Persian دَشْنَهْ: pl. خَنَاجِرُ. Some say, [as, for instance, the author of the Msb,] that the ن is augmentative, the measure being فنعل.
