Full Definition

داقّIII , Verbal.Noun مُدَاقَّةٌ, [He was minute, observant of small things, nice, or scrupulous, with his companion in the reckoning; and so داقّهُ فِى الحِسَابِ;] he reckoned with his companion with minuteness: it signifies an act between two. [And داقّهُ فِى الأَمْرِ He was minute, &c., with him in the affair, or case.] المُدَاقَّةُ فِى الأَمْرِ signifies ; which is an instance of تَفَاعُلٌ from الدِّقَّةُ: you say, , meaning They were minute, &c., each with the other. You say also, داقّ النَّظَرَ فِى مُعَامَلَاتِهِ وَنَفَقَاتِهِ [He examined minutely into his dealings and his expenses]. (TA in art. دنق.)
2 And [hence] مُدَاقَّةٌ, metonymically, signifies The being niggardly, stingy, or avaricious. (Az, TA in art. دنق.)
