دَجَنَI , Present.T ـُ Verbal.Noun دَجْنٌ and دُجُونٌ, It was, or became, one in which the clouds covered the sky: and دَغَنَ, Verbal.Noun دُغُونٌ, signifies the same, accord. to IAar.
2 دَجَنَتِ السَّحَابُ i. q. [meaning The clouds rained continually]: [for] السَّمَآءُ signifies the sky rained continually: [or دَجَنَتِ السَّحَابُ and may mean the clouds covered the sky, or the regions of the sky, or the earth: for] [is app. the Verbal.Noun of the former verb, and] signifies the clouds' covering the sky, or the regions of the sky, or the earth.
3 دَجَنَ بِالمَكَانِ, Present.T ـُ Verbal.Noun دُجُونٌ and دَجْنٌ, He remained, stayed, dwelt, or abode, in the place; kept to it, or became accustomed to it: and so .
4 And hence, دَجَنَ said of the pigeon, and the sheep or goat, &c., as, for instance, the camel, It kept to the house or tent.
5 And دَجَنَتْ لِلسِّنَاوَةِ She was, or became, accustomed to irrigating the land.
6 And دَجَنَ فِى فِسْقِهِ He continued in his transgression, or wickedness, or unrighteousness. And دَجَنُوا فِى لُؤْمِهِمْ They kept to their baseness, or ungenerousness; not abandoning it. And المَطَرُ, and الحُمَّى, The rain, and the fever, continued incessantly for some days.
