دُعَابَةٌ A jesting, or joking; such as is deemed pleasing, or facetious: or play, or sport; as also دُعْبُبٌ : both of which words are also used as inf. ns.: and the latter is also used as an epithet; [as explained below, voce دَاعِبٌ;] app. in an intensive sense [because originally an Verbal.Noun]. And Speech that causes laughter.
