R. Q. 1 [Verbal.Noun دَمْدَمَةٌ,] He smeared, or did over, a thing much, or exceedingly, or with energy: and he so covered over a thing. (Ham p. 461. [But the context there indicates that the verb in these two senses should be correctly written دمّم.])
