دَمَنَI , Present.T ـُ Verbal.Noun دَمْنٌ, i. q. دَمَلَهَا; i. e. He put the land into a right or proper state, prepared it, or improved it, [or manured it,] with [دَمَان, i. e. dung such as is termed] سِرْقِين.

def.2 دَمِنَ, Present.T ـَ Verbal.Noun دَمَنٌ, He bore rancour, malevolence, malice, or spite, of long continuance, عَلَيْهِ against him: and دَمِنَتْ قُلُوبُهُمٌ Their hearts bore rancour, malevolence, malice, or spite, of long continuance. [Perhaps from دَمِنَتِ النَّخْلَةُ said in the TK to signify The palm-tree became rotten and black: see دَمَانٌ, below.]
2 The Verbal.Noun دَمَنٌ also signifies The being lasting, continual, or permanent. [And app. signifies It was, or became, of long continuance: see a usage of its part. n. مُنْدَمِنٌ voce دِمْنَةٌ.]
