دَمِىَI , [held by some to be originally دَمِوَ,] like رَضِىَ, which is from الرِّضْوَانُ, being thus [with ى] because of the kesreh, [but most hold the last radical to be ى,] and دَمَى, Present.T يَدْمَى, Verbal.Noun دَمًا or دَمًى and دُمِىٌّ, (S, MA, [but in the Msb it seems to be indicated that it is دَمَىٌ,]) said of a thing, or of a wound, and دَمِيَتْ said of the arm or hand, It bled; blood issued from it: [and] it was, or became, bloody; i. e., smeared, or defiled, with blood.
