Full Definition

دَوْحَةٌ A great tree, with spreading branches, of whatever kind it be: pl. دَوْحٌ , [or rather this is the coll. gen. n. of the n. un. دَوْحَةٌ,] like as تَمْرٌ is of تَمْرَةٌ; and أَدْوَاحٌ is pl. of دَوْحٌ: and شَجَرَةٌ signifies the same; and the pl. is دَوَائِحُ; or دَوَائِحُ signifies great trees, one of which is called دَوْحَةٌ, and its sing., though it be not used, seems to be دَائِحَةٌ.
