دَافَهُI , first pers. دُفْتُهُ, Present.T يَدُوفُهُ, Verbal.Noun دَوْفٌ; and , Verbal.Noun إِدَافَةٌ; He mixed it; generally meaning medicine, and perfume: and he moistened it, namely, medicine, &c., with water &c., or with water and the like: or دافه فِى المَآءِ [he steeped it in water], namely, perfume, &c.: and دَافَهُ, Present.T يَدِيفُهُ, Verbal.Noun دَيْفٌ, is a dial. var. thereof: and فَادَهُ, Present.T يَفُودُهُ signifies the same. [Also, app., He bruised, brayed, or pounded, it; or powered, or pulverized, it; namely, musk: see مَدُوفٌ, below.]
