Full Definition

رَافِعٌ act. part. n. of رَفَعَهُ; Raising; &c.
2 الرَّافِعُ, one of the names of God, meaning The Exalter of the believer by prospering [him], and of his saints by teaching [them]. خَافِضَةٌ رَافِعَةٌ, in the Kur lvi. 3, is explained in art. خفض.
3 رَافِعَةٌ, for جَمَاعَةٌ رَافِعَةٌ, or نَفْسٌ رَافِعَةٌ: see a trad. (commencing with the words كُلُّ رَافِعَةِ) in the first paragraph of this art.
4 نَاقَةٌ رَافِعٌ A she-camel [drawing up, or withdrawing, or withholding, her milk; i. e.,] not yielding her milk: or when she draws up, &c., or refuses to yield, (إِذَا رَفَعَتْ,) the biestings in her udder. [See also دَافِعٌ, to which it is opposed.]

3 رَوَافِعُ [pl. of رَافِعةٌ for جَمَاعَةٌ رَافِعَةٌ] People going the pace termed مَرْفوع [on their camels or beasts].
