رَمَضٌ The vehemence of the action of the sun upon the sand &c.: or vehemence of heat; as also رَمْضَآءُ : or the heat of the stones, arising from the intense heat of the sun: or the burning of the intense heat of summer: or heat.
2 [Hence the saying,] تَدَاخَلَنِى مِنْ هَذَا الأَمْرِ رَمضٌ [Distress and disquietude, or grief, crept into me from, or in consequence of, this thing: see رَمِضْتُ مِنَ الأَمْرِ.]
