ـَ; Verbal.Noun زَئِيرٌ and زَأْرٌ; said of a lion, He roared, or growled; i. e., made his cry, or voice, to be heard in his chest, or from his chest; as also
تزأّر and
: he cried out, and was angry.
2 And [hence], said of a stallion-camel, as also , or زَأَرَ [only], or زَأَرَ فِى هَدِيرَهِ, He reiterated his voice, or cry, in his chest, and then prolonged it, in his braying: or زَأَرَ, Present.T

3 [Hence also,] سَمِعَ زَئِيرَ الحَرْبِ فَطَارَ إِلَيْهَا [He heard the roaring of the war, or battle, and flew to it].
