زَامٌّ
[act. part. n. of زَمَّ]. زَأَمَّهَا [meaning Attaching a
زِمَام
to her] occurs used by poetic license for زَامَّهَا, because of the concurrence of two quiescent letters; like اِسْوَأَدَّتْ for اِسْوَادَّتْ.
2 Magnifying, or exalting, himself; or elevating his nose, from pride: [and in like manner
زَمٌّ :] one says, زَأَيْتُهُ زَمًّا I saw him magnifying, or exalting, himself, &c., not speaking: pl. of the former زُمَّمٌ.
