زَبِيبٌ Dried grapes; or raisins: and also dried figs: said by AHn to have been used in this latter sense by an Arab of the desert: a coll. gen. n.; masc. and fem.: n. un. with ة.

def.2 Also The froth, or foam, of water: and of a camel's mouth: (L in art. لقح:) and the poison in the mouth of a serpent. زَبِيبَةٌ [is the n. un., and] signifies A collection of froth, or foam, in the mouth of a person speaking, or talking, much: [or the dual] زَبِيبَتَانِ signifies two collections of froth, or foam, or of spittle, or of dry spittle, in the sides of the mouth, where the lips meet, next the tongue. You say, غَضِبَ فَثَارَ لَهُ زَبِيبَتَانِ He was angry, and there appeared two collections of froth, or foam, in the two sides of his mouth. زَبِيبَتَانِ, in a serpent, signifies Two black small spots above the eyes: (S, K, and Mgh in art. شجع:) or two small spots next the mouth thereof: or two collections of froth, or foam, in the two sides of the mouth thereof when it is angry. And in a dog, Two black small spots above the eyes: or two things above the eyes, resembling the زَنَمَتَانِ [see رَنَمَةٌ] of a camel: or two pieces of flesh in the head, resembling two horns: or two fangs projecting from the mouth: and other explanations are given by the interpreters of strange words [occurring in the traditions].
