سَبِيبٌ : see سِبٌّ, second sentence.

def.2 Also The hair of the forelock, and of the tail, the latter meaning [only] assigned to it by Er-Riyáshee, and of the mane, of a horse: pl. أَسَابِيبُ and سَبَائِبُ.
2 And A lock (خُصْلَة) of hair; as also سَبِيبَةٌ : pl. سَبَائِبُ: which is also expl. as syn. with ذَوَائِبُ [app. as meaning pendent locks, or pendent plaits, of hair]: thus in the phrase اِمْرَأَةٌ طَوِيلَةُ السَّبَائِبِ A woman having the ذوائب long.
