سِجَافَةٌ : see سِجْفٌ.
2 Hence the saying of Umm-Selemeh to ' Áïsheh, وَجَّهْتِ سِجَافَتَهُ i. e. هَتَكْتِ سِتْرَهُ and أَخَذْتِ وَجْهَهَا [i. e. وَجْهَ سِجَافَتِهِ (as in the JM in art. وجه in explanation of وَجَّهْتِ سِدَافَتَهُ) Thou hast rent open his veil, or covering; both of these explanations meaning the same, as is said in the O and K in art. سدف]: but it is also related otherwise, i. e. وجّهت سِدَافَتَهُ, which has the same meaning.
