سَحَقَهُI

ـَ Verbal.Noun سَحْقٌ, He bruised, brayed, or pounded, it; syn. دَقَّهُ; namely, a thing, or medicine: or i. q.
سَهَكَهُ [app. as meaning he bruised, brayed, or pounded, it coarsely; but see this latter verb]: or it signifies [he did so in a degree] less than what is meant by
دَقَّهُ: or [he powdered, or pulverized, it; i. e.] he bruised, brayed, or pounded, it finely: or he bruised, brayed, or pounded, it time after time.
2 [Hence,] سَحَقَتِ الرِّيحُ الأَرْضَ, Present.T and Verbal.Noun as above,
3 And سَحَقَهُ, Present.T and Verbal.Noun as above,

One says, سُحْقًا لَهُ, a form of imprecation, meaning May God alienate him, or estrange him, from good, or prosperity! or curse him! i. e. may he not be pitied with respect to that which has befallen him! like بُعْدًا لَهُ: the most approved way is to put the noun thus in the accus. case as an Verbal.Noun; but the tribe of Temeem say, بُعْدٌ لَهُ, and سُحْقٌ. 2 سَحُقَتِ النَّخْلَةُ The palm-tree became tall: or tall with smoothness [of its trunk].
