سَرَّاجٌ

Root: سرج

Full Definition

سَرَّاجٌ A saddler; i. e. a maker of سُرُوج [or saddles]: or a seller thereof.

def.2 Also A great, or habitual, liar, who will not tell thee truly whence he comes, but will tell thee lyingly. One says, إِنَّهُ سَرَّاجٌ مَرَّاجٌ Verily he is a lying person, or a great, or habitual, liar, who adds, or exaggerates, (يَزِيدُ,) in his narration, or talk, or discourse. And it is used alone, [without مَرَّاجٌ,] so that one says, رَجُلٌ سَرَّاجٌ [A man who lies much, or habitually, &c.]. [See also سَدَّاجٌ.]
