Full Definition

سِرِطْرَاطٌ and سَرَطْرَاطٌ, the former said by Az to be a good form, like جِلِبَّابٌ and سِجِلَّاطٌ, but the latter to be the only instance of its form known to him, and سُرَيْطٌ , like زُبَيْرٌ, or سُرَّيْطٌ , like قُبَّيْطٌ, [The kind of sweet food called] فَالُوذٌ, [Lh, S, M, K,) or فَالُوذَجٌ; so called because very delicious to eat and swallow, from سَرَطٌ signifying the “ act of swallowing; ” of the dial. of Syria: or [the kind of sweet food called] خَبِيصٌ.
