سُفْلٌ and سِفْلٌ [but it is strangely added in the Msb that IKt disallowed the pronunciation with damm] and سِفْلَةٌ and The lowest, or lower, part [of a thing]; contr. of عُلْوٌ and عِلْوٌ and عِلْوَةٌ and عُلَاوَةٌ; [and so , contr. of عَاليَةٌ:] كُلّ شَىْءٍ signifies, or is said to signify, the lowest, or lower, part of anything; i. e. and عُلَاوَتُهُ [The contr., i. e.] أَعْلَاهُ.
