Full Definition

سنّاهُII , Verbal.Noun تَسْنِيَةٌ, He ascended, rose, mounted, got, was, or became, upon it, namely, a thing; as also . And تسنّى البَعِيرُ النَّاقَةَ The he-camel mounted the she-camel to compress her.

def.2 And سنّاهُ, Verbal.Noun as above, He opened it; namely, a knot, and a lock: and made it easy. A poet says, وَأَعْلَمُ عِلْمًا لَيْسَ بِالظَّنِّ أَنَّهُ إِذَا ٱللّٰهُ سَنَّى عَقْدَ شَىْءٍ تَيَسَّرَا [And I know with a knowledge that is not mere opinion, that, when God opens, and makes easy, the tying, or knotting, of a thing, it becomes easy]. And one says, سَنَّيْتُ الشَّىْءَ, and الأَمْرَ, I opened the way of doing the thing, and the affair. And البَابَ, Verbal.Noun سنى [app. سَنْىٌ], I opened the door; as also ; the verb in this sense having ى and و for its last radical.
