Full Definition

شَقَأَI , Present.T ـَ Verbal.Noun شَقْ ٌ and شُقُوْءٌ, said of the نَاب [or tush] of a camel, It grew forth; it appeared; as also شَكَأَ. (K in art. شكأ.) [See also شَقَّ.] شَاقِى, with the ء softened [or changed into ى], occurs in a verse of Dhu-r-Rummeh [for the part. n. شاقئ].

def.2 شَقَأَ رَأْسَهُ He divided his head; syn. شَقَّهُ: [meaning, his hair:] or he separated it (فَرَّقَهُ) [i. e. his hair] with the مِشْقَآء [or comb]: or شَقَأَ شَعَرَهُ بِالمُشْطِ, Verbal.Noun شَقْءٌ, he separated his hair with the comb.
2 And شَقَأَهُ, Verbal.Noun شَقْءٌ, He hit his مَشْقَأ, i. e. the place of the parting of the hair of his head, with a staff, or stick.
