شَآءَنِىI , formed by transposition from شَآنِى, Present.T يَشُوْءُ and يَشِىْءُ, [but the latter form of the Present.T is disallowed by MF,] He preceded me, or outwent me.

def.2 And He grieved me.
2 And He pleased me. Thus it bears two contr. significations. And شُؤْتُهُ, Present.T أَشُوْؤُهُ, I pleased him.
3 And شُؤْتُ بِهِ I was pleased with, and rejoiced in, him, or it. [See also art. شأو.]
