شَوَانِئُ means [Camels, or the like,] not avariciously retained; as though hated, and therefore liberally given away: شوانئ being app. an act. part. n. [in the pl.] used in the sense of a pass. part. n., like the instances in مَآءٌ دَافِقٌ and عِيشَةٌ رَاضِيَةٌ.
