Full Definition

شَاقَنِىI , Present.T يَشُوقُنِى, Verbal.Noun شَوْقٌ; and , Verbal.Noun تَشْوِيقٌ; It excited my desire, or the yearning or longing of my soul. [Hence,] one says, شُقْ شُقْ فُلَانًا, meaning Render thou desirous, render thou desirous, such a one ( ) for the ultimate abode or ultimate state of existence in the world to come (إِلَى الآخِرَةِ).
2 And شاق الطُّنُبَ إِلَى الوَتِدِ, Present.T يَشُوقُهُ, Verbal.Noun شَوْقٌ, He tied, and made fast, the tent-rope to the tent-peg; as also شاقه having for its Verbal.Noun شَيْقٌ; (TA in art. شيق;) like نَاطَهُ بِهِ, Verbal.Noun نَوْطٌ: mentioned also by Z.
3 And شاق القِرْبَةَ, Verbal.Noun as above, He set up the water-skin, leaning it against the wall: mentioned by Ibn-Buzurj.
