Full Definition

شَيْرَجٌ , or شِيرَجٌ, or the latter is not allowable, vulgarly pronounced سِيرَج, [q. v.,] with س and kesr, an arabicized word, from [the Pers.] شِيرَهْ, Oil of sesame, or sesamum: and white oil is sometimes thus called: and expressed juice (عَصِير), or [beverage of the kind called] نَبِيذ, before it alters; as being likened to oil of sesame because of its clearness.
