2 صلّعت الحَيَّةُ The serpent came forth from concealment (بَرَزَت) without any earth, or dust, upon it.

def.2 صلّع, Verbal.Noun تَصْلِيعٌ, i. q. أَعْذَرَ [meaning He voided his ordure: see تَصْلِيعٌ as a subst., below; and what here follows]. And صلّع فُلَانٌ, Such a one put his hand evenly expanded on the ground and voided his ordure or his ordure in a thin state (سَلَحَ): thus expl. by Lth. See also 1, last sentence.
