صَيْلَمٌ

Full Definition

صَيْلَمٌ A difficult, severe, or distressing, event; such as extirpates: you say أَمْرٌ صَيْلَمٌ: and such is termed صَيْلَمِيَّةٌ . And you say also وَقْعَةٌ صَيْلَمَةٌ i. e. [An onslaught] that extirpates.
2 And A calamity; because it [often] extirpates; and so صَلَمَةٌ .
3 And An abominable severing from friendly, or loving, communion or intercourse.
4 And A sword.
