Full Definition

ضَرَّبَII see 1, first sentence; and in two places in a sentence shortly after that.
2 ضرّب الشَّىْءَ بِالشَّىْءِ: see 1, in the second quarter of the paragraph.
3 [Hence,] التَّضْرِيبُ بَيْنُ القَوْمِ The exciting discord, or strife, or animosity, between, or among, the people, or party.
4 And ضرّب, Verbal.Noun تَضْرِيبٌ, signifies also He excited, incited, urged, or instigated, and roused to ardour, a courageous man, in war, or battle.
5 ضرّب المُضَرَّبَةَ, Verbal.Noun as above, He sewed [meaning quilted] with cotton the مُضَرَّبَة [q. v.].

def.2 ضرّبت عَيْنُهُ His eye became depressed in his head.

def.3 ضرّب, Verbal.Noun as above, also signifies He exposed himself, or became exposed, (تَعَرَّضَ,) to the snow, i. e. the ضَرِيب [which signifies also, and more commonly, hoar-frost, or rime].

def.4 And He drank what is termed ضَرِيب, i. e. the milk thus called, or شَهْد [meaning honey, or honey in its comb, or honey not expressed from its comb].
