Full Definition

ضِمَادٌ A bandage, or fillet, or a kerchief, that is bound upon a wound; as also ضِمَادَةٌ : and a piece of rag that is wound round the head, after anointing it, or wetting it with water: and sometimes put upon the head on account of a headache: pl. ضَمَائِدُ.
2 Also A remedy [or dressing, such as a poultice and the like,] that is applied to a wound.
