Root: طهو

Full Definition

طَاهٍ A cook; a roaster, broiler, or fryer: and a maker, or kneader and baker, of bread: and, as some say, any dresser, or preparer, of food, &c., who qualifies it well, rightly, or properly: pl. طُهَاةٌ and طُهِىٌّ: (K, TA: [in the CK the latter is written طُهًى, which is evidently wrong; whereas طُهِىٌّ is agreeable with analogy, being originally طُهُوْىٌ:]) the fem. is طَاهِيَةٌ, and its pl. is طَوَاهٍ.

def.2 لَيْلٌ طَاهٍ A dark night.
