2 ] ظَفِرَتْ عَيْنُهُ, Present.T ـَ Verbal.Noun ظَفَرٌ and ظَفَارَةٌ; and, as some say, ظُفِرَت; His eye had what is termed a ظَفَرَة or ظُفْر.
3 And ظُفِرَ He had upon his eye what is termed a ظَفَرَة or ظُفْر.

def.3 ظَفِرَ, Present.T ـَ Verbal.Noun ظَفَرٌ, He attained, got, got possession of, or acquired, what he desired, or sough: he succeeded, or was successful: he won, was victorious, or gained the victory: and [originally اِظْتَفَرَ] signifies the same as ظَفِرَ. You say, ظَفِرَ بِهِ and عَلَيْهِ, and ظَفِرَهُ, He attained it, got it, got possession of it, or acquired it; and in like manner , of the measure اِفْتَعَلَ. And ظَفِرْتُ بِالضَّالَّةِ I found the stray, or lost beast. And ظَفِرَ بِعَدُوِّهِ and عَلَيْهِ, and ظَفِرَهُ, He gained the victory, or mastery, over his enemy; he overcame him.
2 [Hence,] ظَفِرَتِ النَّاقَةُ لَقَحًا The she-camel took, or received, impregnation. And مَا ظَفِرَتْكَ عَيْنِى مُنْذُ حِينٍ or مُنْذُ زَمَانٍِ My eye hath not seen thee [for some time]: like مَا أَخَذَتْكَ.
