ظِلَّامٌ and ظَلَّامٌ and ظِلَامٌ and ظَالِمٌ and ظِلَمٌ , the last mentioned by IAar, and its sing. is ظِلْمَةٌ , accord. to AHn, A certain herb, which is depastured; accord. to IAar, a strange kind of tree; accord. to As, a kind of tree having long [shoots such as are termed] عَسَالِيج [pl. of عُسْلُوجٌ q. v.], which extend so that they exceed the limit of the أَصْل [i. e. either root or stem] thereof; for which reason the tree is called ظَلَّام.
