عَائِلٌ Poor, and needy, or in want; occurring in the Kur xciii. 8; as also عَيِّلٌ , and مُعِيلٌ : pl. of the first عَالَةٌ, [originally] of the measure فَعَلَةٌ, like كَفَرَةٌ pl. of كَافِرٌ, and عُيَّلٌ and عَيْلَى and [quasi-pl. ns.] عَيْلَةٌ and عِيلٌ .
