عَانِيَّةٌ

Full Definition

عَانِيَّةٌ Wine (خَمْر [in the CK erroneously حُمُر]) of 'Anch (عَانَة), a town on the Euphrates. Zuheyr speaks of the wine of 'Aneh in a verse in which be likens to it the saliva of a woman. And [عَانِيَّة is used as a subst.:] one says, فُلَانٌ لَا يُحِبُّ إِلَّا العَانِيَّةَ وَلَا يَصْحَبُ إِلَّا الحَانِيَّةَ i. e. [Such a one does not love aught save] the wine of 'Auch, and [does not associate save with] the vintners.
