Full Definition

عَبْعَبٌ The softness, tenderness, bloom, or flourishing freshness, of youth.
2 And Youth, or youthfulness, in its state of full growth, or maturity: or a full-grown, or mature, youth: or i. q. شَابٌّ مُمْتَلِئٌ, meaning مُمْتَلِئُ الشَّبَابِ [i. e. a youth full of the sap, or vigour, of youthfulness].
3 And A buck-gazelle.
4 عَبْعَبُ التَّصْوِيرِ means Bulky in form, big (جَلِيل) in speech. (TA. [But the addition “ big in speech ” is app. a mistake, occasioned by an omission or a transposition: see عَبْعَابٌ.])

6 And العَبْعَبُ, not a mistranscription for الغبغب, but sometimes pronounced with غ, is the name of A certain idol, belonging to Kudá'ah and those dwelling near to them. And The place of the idol [app. of the idol above mentioned] is also sometimes thus called. See also الغَبْغَبُ.
