عمّاهُII
, Verbal.Noun تَعْمِيَةٌ, He rendered him blind, of both eyes: and so
اعماهُ , said of God, or of a man. Hence the saying of Sá'ideh Ibn-Jueiyeh,
2 And [hence] عَمَّيْتُ الخَبَرَ I made the information unapparent, obscure, or covert. And عمّى مَعْنَى البَيْتِ, Verbal.Noun as above, He made the meaning of the verse unapparent, obscure, or covert. And عمّى مُرَادَهُ He made his meaning enigmatical, or obscure, in his speech, or language. (S, A, K, in art. لغز.) And عمّى عَلَى إِنْسَانٍ شَيْئًا He made a thing obscure, or dubious, to a man.
