غَرْقَدٌ A species of tree, of large size, of the kind termed عِضَاه, said by some to grow in the ground termed قُفّ: or the species of tree called عَوْسَج [or boxthorn], when it has grown large: a species of thorny tree: [a coll. gen. n.:] n. un. with ة.

def.2 It is said in the K to signify also The white of an egg: but as thus expl., it is app. a mistake for غِرْقِئٌ.
