غِطَمٌّ

Full Definition

غِطَمٌّ A great sea, abundant in water; and غِطْيَمٌّ , like قِرْشَبُّ, [in the CK غَطِيْم,] signifies the same; as also : one says بَحْرٌ غِطَمٌّ.
2 And A man large in disposition or dispositions; [i. e.] liberal, or bountiful: one says رَجُلٌ غِطَمٌّ.
3 And A numerous company, or collective body: one says جَمْعٌ غِطَمٌّ. And عَدَدٌ غِطْيَمٌّ , like قِرْشَبٌّ, A large number. [See also غُطَامِطٌ, in art. غطمط.]
