غَيُورٌ

غَيُورٌ and غَيْرَانُ and غَيَّارٌ and مِغْيَارٌ epithets [all of which are intensive] from غَارَ عَلَى أَهْلِهِ, i. e., from الغَيْرَةُ: [Very jealous: &c.: see غَيْرَةٌ:] and غَيُورٌ and غَيْرَى and غَيَّارَةٌ signify the same applied to a woman: the pl. of غَيُورٌ is غُيُرٌ, masc. and fem., and he who says رُسْلٌ [for رُسُلٌ] says غُيْرٌ [or غِيرٌ?]; and of غَيْرَانُ غَيَارَى and غُيَارَى; and of غَيْرَى, also, غَيَارَى and غُيَارَى; and of مِغْيَارٌ مَغَايِيرُ.
