فَئِيدٌ

Root: فأد

Full Definition

فَئِيدٌ : see مَفْؤُودٌ, in two places.

def.2 Also, applied to bread [or dough], and so مَفْؤُودٌ , and مُفْتَأَدٌ , and أُفْؤُودٌ , Baked on the fire: or put into hot ashes, and baked therein: or toasted [or baked] in hot ashes. And the first, applied to flesh-meat, Roasted, as also مَفْؤُودٌ , on the fire: or roasted upon live coals; as also مُفْأَدٌ [evidently, I think, a mistranscription for مُفْتَأَدٌ ].
2 And فَئِيدٌ signifies also Fire or a fire [for baking &c.].
