فَاخِرٌ

Full Definition

فَاخِرٌ an epithet from فَخَرَ in the first of the senses expl. above; as also فَخُورٌ : [the former signifies Glorying; boasting; &c.: and the latter, the same as] one who glories, or boasts, much; as also فِخِّيرَآءُ : and فِخِّيرَةٌ one who glories, or boasts, very much.
2 A thing, or anything, [superb, grand; as though glorying, or boasting;] good; goodly; excellent; of excellent quality.
3 Also Dates not yet ripe (بُسْرٌ) that grow large, and have no stones: as though they boasted against others.
