فَتَّةٌ

, The thing, or piece of dung, [i. e.] of dry dung, of the camel, or of the horse or any solid-hoofed animal, that is broken, or crumbled, and put beneath the
زَنْدَة, or put beneath the
زَنْد, on the occasion of striking fire, [i. e.] in which one strikes fire. [Hence,] one says, فُلَانٌ لَا يُسَاوِى فَتَّةً, meaning [Such a one is not worth] a crumbled piece of dung of the camel.
