فُقْوَةٌ The فُوق [or notch] of the arrow; i. e. the part which is the place of the bowstring: [also called فُوقَةٌ, from which it is app. formed by transposition, like the other words mentioned in this art.:] pl. فُقًى, also written فُقًا. An ex. of the pl. occurs in a verse cited in art. عرقب, voce عُرْقُوبٌ.
