قَابِلٌ

Full Definition

قَابِلٌ , and مُقْبِلٌ , signify the same, [A nextcoming year]. القَابِلَةُ i. q. اللَّيْلَةُ المُقْبِلَةُ [The next night]. See القُبَاقِبُ.
2 قَابِلٌ لِكَذَا Susceptible of such a thing.
3 قَابِلٌ An arrow that wins [in the game of المَيْسِر]; (TA, art دبر;) contr. of دَابِرٌ, q. v. (S and TA, art. دبر.)
4 قَبَائِل of the head: see شَأْنٌ.
5 And of a helmet: see طِرَاقٌ.
6 قَابِلَةٌ A wife. (TA in art. عزب.)
