قَامِحٌ

Full Definition

قَامِحٌ A camel raising his head from the water or at the watering-trough, and refusing to drink, his thirst being satisfied, or by reason of loathing, or of the coldness of the water, or of some disease: and disliking water from any cause: and مُقَامِحٌ signifies the same, applied to a he-camel, and to a she-camel: pl. of the former قُمَّحٌ; and of ↓ the latter قِمَاحٌ, which is anomalous, or this is pl. of قَامِحٌ, or it is [an Verbal.Noun] syn. with مُقَامَحَةٌ, used as an epithet; you say إِبِلٌ قِمَاحٌ; and إِبِلٌ.
2 Also, as expl. by Lth, and so مُقَامِحٌ , but, accord. to Az, wrongly, A camel very languid by reason of vehement thirst.
