قَانِبٌ The howling wolf. See also مَقَانِبُ.
2 And A quick, or brisk, فَيْج [i. e. foot-messenger, or courier who journeys on foot]; as also قَيْنَابٌ . (O, K. [In the CK, الفَيْحُ is put for الفَيْجُ.])
3 And وَادٍ قَانِبٌ [A valley, or water-course,] of which the torrent comes from afar.
