كَآءَI , first pers. كِئْتُ, Present.T يَكِىْءُ, Verbal.Noun كَىْءٌ and كَيْئَةٌ; and كَآءَ عَنْهُ, first pers. كُؤْتُ, Present.T يَكُوْءُ, Verbal.Noun كَوْءٌ and كَآءٌ and كَأْوٌ, this last formed by transposition; He abstained from the thing through timidity: or he dreaded the thing, and abstained from it through cowardice: or his eye reverted from the thing, and he desired it not.
2 كَاءَ عَنْهُ He retired from him through fear. [Accord. to the TA, it seems that also has this signification.]
